Radio Series: “Heritage Heroes”
We created a series of 10 audio programmes introducing the what, how and why of local heritage, providing context and a broad overview of how towns grew and developed over time.
- Programmes broadcast on Fun Kids and available as podcasts on Inspiring Audio and Fun Kids websites
- Each programme supported with additional information online
- Children encouraged to research their local heritage and send in their heritage photos
Workshop Events: “Shout About Your Town”
We hosted 10 workshops at museums across the UK where children learn skills of research, recording and producing. Using visual displays of each museum’s local area and heritage sites as research tools, children also had opportunity to write and record audio on places of interest to them.
- Black Country Living Museum (Dudley)
- Story Museum (Oxford)
- Canterbury Museum
- Margate Museum
- Museum of Norwich
- Portsmouth Museum
- MERL (Reading)
- Headstone Manor & Museum (Harrow)
- Kingswood Heritage Museum (Bristol)
- Watercress Line Railway (Alresford)
Podcast Series: “Heritage Heroes – Your Heritage”
We made series of podcasts using audio recorded at each workshop, exploring the locality around each museum. These will take families on a virtual tour, helping them explore heritage on their doorstep and further afield.
